Body politic youth
professional training for 16-21yrs
Body Politic YOUTH is a brand new Oxford-based dance training initiative created to nurture the next generation of young artists.
The programme has been designed to provide opportunities for young dancers to train and develop as performers, dancers, and choreographers through the fusion of hip-hop, and dance theatre.
This 6-month training programme will be led by Artistic Director, Emma-Jane Greig and includes collaborations with some of the UK’s leading Hip Hop Dance artists. Across the 6 months, dancers will work to create innovative performances and digital works performed both regionally and locally. Dancers will explore their own creative practice, broaden their understanding of hip hop foundations and build their own identity as a young artist. Featuring: Jamaal O’Driscoll, Luke Lentes, Far From the Norm and many more!
All of our practitioners work hard to share their expertise, nurture talent, and create a supportive environment for young artists to flourish.
Body Politic YOUTH also includes collaborations with Ella Goodwin to create a piece of work that will be performed at thePLATFORM on 2nd March 2024 at Pegasus Theatre.
The programme will be delivered for 2 hours per week on Tuesday evenings and run from 16th January- 9th July 2024.
